1. What MetaGoal is

MetaGoal is a non-custodial protocol on the Solana blockchain for user-created skill-based prize pools around real-world events. MetaGoal does not custody user funds; funds are held in on-chain Vault PDAs until the outcome is resolved per the pool's pre-agreed rules.

2. What MetaGoal is NOT

• Not a sportsbook, gambling operator, or money transmitter
• Not an operator of games of chance
• Not a custodian of user funds
• Not a financial institution

Participation requires a skill element (ranking, picking across N events, or equivalent). Pure games of chance are not supported.

3. Eligibility

• Must be 18+ (21+ where required by local law)
• Not a resident of US gambling-restricted states (NJ, NV, MA, MT — current as of 2026; see status page for live list)
• Not a resident of jurisdictions with blanket gambling prohibitions (KSA, UAE, and others)
• Not under sanctions (OFAC SDN list)

4. Fees

Protocol fee: 1% of each payout (hard-capped at 2.5%). Creators may set an optional creator fee up to 3%. Fees are visible in the UI before pool creation and enforced on-chain.

5. Disputes

Any participant may dispute a resolution within 48 hours of reveal, subject to a bond (10% of pot, capped at $100 USDC). Disputes are resolved by the protocol multisig per MULTISIG.md. A dispute found in bad faith forfeits the bond.

6. Oracle resolution

Each pool specifies an oracle kind at creation: protocol multisig, creator commit-reveal, Pyth, Switchboard, first-party pools_oracle, or custom 3rd-party. Outcomes are deterministic given the oracle data. MetaGoal is not liable for oracle failures but will honor disputes triggered by verifiable oracle errors.

7. User responsibilities

Users are responsible for: custody of their own wallet keys (when applicable), tax reporting in their jurisdiction, verifying pool rules before joining, and compliance with local laws.

8. No warranty

The protocol is provided AS-IS. MetaGoal does not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific outcomes, or absence of bugs. Smart contract risk is real — audits reduce but do not eliminate this risk.

9. Governing law + arbitration

Disputes between users and MetaGoal are resolved via binding arbitration in Panama City, Panama. Users waive class-action rights.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated; material changes announced on status.metagoal.fun with 14 days notice before taking effect for existing pools.
